Call on God's Mercy
by Mark Brazee
|
"For thou, Lord, art good, and ready to forgive; and plenteous in mercy
unto all them that call upon thee" (Ps. 86:5).
When Bartimaeus called on the mercy of God in Mark 10:46-52, Jesus
said, "What wilt thou that I should do unto thee?" (v. 51). In other
words, Jesus asked, "What do you want Me to do for you?"
Bartimaeus touched the heart of God when he called on His mercy.
During Jesus' ministry, many people called on God's mercy. When they
did, blind eyes were opened, deaf ears could hear, the oppressed were
set free from evil spirits and the sick were healed of sicknesses and
diseases.
What good does it do us to know that fact? Well, Psalm 86:5 says that
God is plenteous in mercy unto all those who call upon Him. His mercy
endures forever, and He doesn't turn away anyone who calls upon Him. So
just as people called on His mercy 2,000 years ago, we can call on His
mercy today and have the same results.
There's a time to rise up and operate in our own faith for our healing
and other needs. But there are also times when we just need to get down
to business and say, "Lord, have mercy on me. Because Your mercy
endures forever and You give to all who ask, have mercy on me."
God's mercy is ready to manifest in your life as health, freedom,
strength, liberty, wisdom and everything else you need. When you touch
God's heart by calling on His mercy, He will manifest His mercy to you
- spirit, soul, and body.
